For national and franchise home service brands
Your brand isn’t one AI answer. It’s a hundred local answers.
When a homeowner in any of your markets asks ChatGPT who to call, it answers with somebody. I measure whether that’s you – market by market, in real customer phrasing – and work with multi-location home service brands on what to do where it isn’t.
The multi-market problem, plainly
A national brand can be the default recommendation in Dallas and invisible in Denver, and no one at headquarters knows – because nobody is asking the question the way customers ask it. Rankings dashboards don’t show it. Brand trackers don’t show it. The only way to see it is to run the actual questions, in the actual markets, and read the actual answers.
The stakes are simple: in emergency categories, the AI’s answer is effectively a referral – whoever gets named gets called. In considered-purchase categories, the answer shapes the quote list before your sales team knows the project exists.
How the measurement works
Questions written the way customers actually type and say them – “my basement flooded, who do I call,” “who should I hire to replace my roof” – not keyword strings. Bottom of the funnel first: ready-to-hire questions and trust questions, because those are the answers that move revenue. The same fixed question set runs in every market, across the major AI assistants, on a schedule, with every answer captured and dated.
What comes back is specific enough to act on: where you appear and where you don’t, who appears instead – including whether AI is sending your customers to local independents – what the assistants get wrong about you, and how that picture differs city by city. Then remediation, in priority order, market by market. Measurement before fixes, always in that order.
How engagements are structured
Three rungs, in order
Brand-level audit
A focused read on one brand: how AI assistants answer for you in a sample of your markets, what they say when customers ask if you can be trusted, and where the obvious gaps are. Free, no obligation, delivered as a plain written briefing.
Multi-market baseline
The complete measurement across every market you choose: visibility, share of voice against competitors, sentiment where it surfaces, and accuracy checks on what AI says about you. Captured, dated, and delivered with priorities – the map remediation runs from.
Tracking and remediation
The baseline re-run on a schedule so movement is visible, paired with the fixes – in priority order, market by market. AI answers change; the value is in the trend line, not the snapshot.
The benchmark
The State of AI Visibility in Home Services
I’m building an ongoing benchmark of how AI assistants recommend the largest national home service brands across a fixed set of US metros – same brands, same markets, same questions, re-run on a schedule. It covers plumbing, HVAC, electrical and standby power, restoration, roofing, and exteriors, with the full methodology published alongside the findings so anyone can re-run the questions and see what I saw.
The first edition publishes here. If you run digital for one of those brands, you’ll want to see where you landed before your CEO reads about it in the trade press.
Why this is worth your time
This isn’t a dashboard subscription with your logo on it. It’s measurement done by a practitioner who has spent 15 years doing local visibility work for real service businesses – the same work your franchisees and branch managers are trying to do in every one of your markets. The question set is built from how customers actually talk, the methodology is written down and reproducible, and every claim in every deliverable traces to a captured, dated answer. If the data says you’re fine somewhere, the report says so.
