FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Is the free audit really free? What’s the catch?

Yes, it’s free, and there’s no obligation. The honest version of the catch: some people who get an audit later hire my agency, NH Strategic Marketing, to fix what it found. That’s the business model, and it only works if the audit itself is straight.

Do I need to pay for a tool to check whether AI recommends my business?

No. You can test it yourself for free by asking ChatGPT and other AI assistants the questions your real customers would ask, and seeing who they name. The Start Here page on this site carries the complete method – the test, the pitfalls, and how the platforms differ.

How is AI visibility different from regular SEO?

SEO is about ranking in a list of links. AI visibility is about whether an assistant names your business when someone asks it for a recommendation – there’s no page two. The fixes overlap a lot, but the test is different: instead of checking rankings, you check answers.

Can anyone guarantee my business will show up in ChatGPT?

No. Nobody controls what an AI assistant answers, and anyone promising guaranteed AI placement is selling something they can’t deliver. What you can do is measure where you stand and fix the things that make businesses easier to find and cite. That’s what this site covers, for one business or a hundred markets.

Will you do the work for me, or just tell me what’s wrong?

Both paths exist. The free material on this site teaches you to do it yourself. If you’d rather hire it out, that’s what NH Strategic Marketing does. The audit is the same either way – it tells you what’s broken, and you decide who fixes it.

Do you work with national or franchise brands?

Yes. For multi-location home service brands, I measure how AI assistants recommend or ignore their locations market by market, in real customer phrasing, and work on remediation in priority order. The national brands page covers the whole engagement.

What does working together look like for a national brand?

Three rungs, in order: a free brand-level audit across a sample of your markets, a full multi-market baseline with priorities, and ongoing tracking and remediation. Measurement always comes before fixes – that’s the whole discipline.

What is the home services benchmark?

An ongoing study of how AI assistants recommend the largest national home service brands across a fixed set of US metros – same brands, same markets, same questions, re-run on a schedule, with the methodology published in full. The first edition publishes on this site.

Who runs this site?

Mike Purvis, in Concord, New Hampshire. I also own NH Strategic Marketing, a local marketing agency. The site, the agency relationship, and the Get Found YouTube channel are all laid out on the about and disclosure pages.

Do you make money from tools or services you mention?

Sometimes, and it’s disclosed every time it happens – at the moment of the mention, not buried in fine print. The standing disclosure page lists every financial relationship this site and the channel have.

Is this site connected to the Get Found YouTube channel?

Same person, same method, two formats. The channel teaches the local-owner material in video; this site carries it in text, plus the audit, the benchmark, and the national-brand work. Neither one requires the other – use whichever format suits you.

Didn’t find your question?

Ask it through the audit form – a person reads every one. Good questions end up on this page.
